Gamma Gives Back - Community Service with Community Matters

Gamma Iota Sigma has partnered with Community Matters: Insurance Partners of Charlotte on a donation drive and service opportunity at GIS's 51st Annual International Conference, to benefit Charlotte Rescue Mission – an organization serving people impacted by addiction to equip them to thrive in the community. Charlotte Rescue Mission provides residential recovery programs for men, women, and children, as well as a subsequent Life Skills Program at Community Matters Café, preparing Charlotte Rescue Mission graduates to return to the workforce.

Below are suggested items for Charlotte Rescue Mission’s Dove’s Nest Women & Children’s Center. Please bring your donations to the collection bins at conference registration.

  • Back-to-school supplies

About Community Matters: Insurance Partners of Charlotte
Community Matters provides a unique opportunity for insurance and risk management professionals to give back to the greater Charlotte area. By joining together, they are making a meaningful difference to selected nonprofits and charities in their community by donating time and raising funds.  Their current partner is Charlotte Rescue Mission and they have raised $1,000,000 to help launch the Community Matters Café, which provides graduates of the CRM programs a safe place for them to experience personal and professional growth while staying focused on recovery. Community Matters is comprised of more than 80 member companies and has raised more than $1,700,000 and donated over 60,000 volunteer hours to charity since their formation in 2011.
